USACE Awards Contract to Further Natomas Basin Levee Improvements

February 3, 2017. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) awarded a $20.46 million contract to construct a seepage cutoff wall along a stretch of levee between Gateway Oaks Drive and Northgate Blvd. This project is part of the larger effort to reduce flood risk by improving approximately 42 miles of levee surrounding the Natomas Basin – a project that was started by the Sacramento Area Flood Control Agency and the Central Valley Flood Protection Board.
