The proposed Rio Vista scientific field station has received final environmental impact statement approval and could begin construction as soon as federal funding is secured. This state of the art facility will be home to scientists, engineers, technicians, computer scientists and office staff from nine state and federal agencies monitoring conditions in the California Delta, the largest estuary on the west coast of the western hemisphere.
