A partnership agreement between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Sacramento Area Flood Control Agency (SAFCA), and the Central Valley Flood Protection Board (CVFPB) was signed at a ceremony that took place on August 18, 2016. The agreement authorizes further construction and improvements to the Natomas Basin levee system.
