May 18, 2017 – Bob James has Passed Away – Served the State of California for 63 Years

Bob was an honored and dedicated public servant whose important accomplishments were many. He became an attorney after serving in the U.S. Army in World War II, and started his public service career working for the state at the Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board, and the Franchise Tax Board. Bob specialized in water law and joined the Reclamation Board staff, setting flood policy for California’s Central Valley and working on flood-related water issues for more than a decade before moving to the Department of Water Resources In 1962.  Bob loved his work and reluctantly retired in 2012. Greg Harvey has been selected as the Board’s Plan Implementation and Compliance Branch Chief, effective July 1, 2019. Greg has over 18 years of experience in the engineering field and has been with the Board since 2017. Since that time, Greg has played an active role in the coordination with key agencies for the Central Valley Flood Protection Plan Update, managed multiple flood system improvement projects, and acted as PIC Branch Supervisor for nine months. Congratulations, Greg!
