Flood Preparedness Week – October 24-28, 2016

10-24-16floodpreppostLiving in California provides us with so many opportunities for a good life, but along with the benefits, comes the risks Mother Nature can throw at us, such as earthquakes, wildfires, drought, and flooding. Californians should be aware of these risks and take action to be prepared to handle them. The State, its relevant agencies, counties, cities and organizations, with help from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, works toward educating the public to the flood risk we face and how to best prepare for it. October is Flood Preparedness Week, but October 24-28, 2016 is the week set aside for all to focus on flood preparation and education. Read further for good information and helpful resources. Greg Harvey has been selected as the Board’s Plan Implementation and Compliance Branch Chief, effective July 1, 2019. Greg has over 18 years of experience in the engineering field and has been with the Board since 2017. Since that time, Greg has played an active role in the coordination with key agencies for the Central Valley Flood Protection Plan Update, managed multiple flood system improvement projects, and acted as PIC Branch Supervisor for nine months. Congratulations, Greg!
