From Department of Water Resources’ Flood-Mar – “An update on the development of a Flood-Managed Aquifer Recharge (Flood-MAR) network will be presented at next week’s monthly Lunch-MAR meeting. The network is part of a plan to coordinate flood forecasting, agricultural practices, and other considerations to recharge aquifers. Flood-MAR” is an integrated and voluntary resource management strategy that uses flood water resulting from, or in anticipation of, rainfall or snow melt for managed aquifer recharge (MAR) on agricultural lands and working landscapes, including but not limited to refuges, floodplains, and flood bypasses.
