From mavensnotebook.com – Delta Adapts: Creating a Climate Resilient Future is the Delta Stewardship Council’s effort to conduct the first-ever climate change vulnerability assessment and adaptation strategy for the Delta and Suisun Marsh. At the December Council meeting, Assistant Planning Director Harriett Ross presented additional initial findings from phase one of the Delta Adapts climate vulnerability assessment, including the economics analysis and the impacts to the Delta’s people, places, agriculture, recreation, and infrastructure. Last month, staff presented a series of flood risk maps at different planning horizons, along with some numbers on population and the amount of land that could be flooded. They now have additional data that includes the economic value of those exposed assets. (more)
