June 21, 2018 – Phoenix, Arizona. The Central Valley Flood Protection Plan, developed and adopted by the Department of Water Resources and the Central Valley Flood Protection Board, has received the Association of State Floodplain Manager’s 2018 Tom Lee State Award for Excellence in Floodplain Management. This award is given annually to recognize an outstanding floodplain management program or activity at the state level. CVFPB’s Vice-President Emma Suarez attended the Awards Luncheon on behalf of CVFPB to receive this prestigious national award. Salomon Miranda accepted the award on behalf of DWR.
