CVFPB and DWR Receive National Association Award for the 2017 Central Valley Flood Protection Plan Update

June 21, 2018 – Phoenix, Arizona. The Central Valley Flood Protection Plan, developed and adopted by the Department of Water Resources and the Central Valley Flood Protection Board, has received the Association of State Floodplain Manager’s 2018 Tom Lee State Award for Excellence in Floodplain Management. This award is given annually to recognize an outstanding floodplain management program or activity at the state level. CVFPB’s Vice-President Emma Suarez attended the Awards Luncheon on behalf of CVFPB to receive this prestigious national award. Salomon Miranda accepted the award on behalf of DWR. The Central Valley Flood Protection Board announces its first annual employee recognition awards

In December 2018, CVFPB honored three of its employees for their outstanding staff work and contributions to the Board. The recipients of these first CVFPB awards are:

All three have demonstrated an exceptional work ethic and pride in their work, even with juggling many duties, dependability, initiative, a "can do" positive and helpful attitude, and promoted a productive "team work" atmosphere at the Board.
