CVFPB and DWR Receive National Association Award for the 2017 Central Valley Flood Protection Plan Update

June 21, 2018 – Phoenix, Arizona. The Central Valley Flood Protection Plan, developed and adopted by the Department of Water Resources and the Central Valley Flood Protection Board, has received the Association of State Floodplain Manager’s 2018 Tom Lee State Award for Excellence in Floodplain Management. This award is given annually to recognize an outstanding floodplain management program or activity at the state level. CVFPB’s Vice-President Emma Suarez attended the Awards Luncheon on behalf of CVFPB to receive this prestigious national award. Salomon Miranda accepted the award on behalf of DWR. Greg Harvey has been selected as the Board’s Plan Implementation and Compliance Branch Chief, effective July 1, 2019. Greg has over 18 years of experience in the engineering field and has been with the Board since 2017. Since that time, Greg has played an active role in the coordination with key agencies for the Central Valley Flood Protection Plan Update, managed multiple flood system improvement projects, and acted as PIC Branch Supervisor for nine months. Congratulations, Greg!
