The California Water Action Plan (Water Action Plan), released in January 2014 and updated in 2016, is designed to meet three broad objectives: more reliable water supplies; restoration of important species and habitat; and a more resilient, sustainably managed water resources system that can better withstand inevitable and unforeseen pressures in the coming decades. In the nearly five years since the plan’s release, State agencies and their local, federal, and tribal partners have made significant progress. (more)
