From FOX 40 – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District and the San Joaquin Area Flood Control Agency have released a draft Supplemental Environmental Assessment (SEA) and a draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Report (SEIR), respectively, for the Lower San Joaquin River Project, Reach 30L of Tenmile Slough (TS30L). USACE and SJAFCA will hold a public meeting to explain the SEA and SEIR and solicit public comment in both virtual and in-person formats on June 26, 2023. The purpose of the overall Lower San Joaquin River Project is to reduce flood risk for more than 162,000 Stockton residents by improving 23 miles of levee and providing two closure structures. The levee improvements include cutoff walls, deep soil mixing (seismic), a new levee, levee geometry improvements and erosion protection.
